1/17/2008 - Condo Compactor Abuse - Update

There has been an ongoing problem with a few people not placing their trash inside the trash compactor.

Not only does this look unsightly, it is also a potential health hazard as well.

In response to this problem, the Green Cay Village Condominium Association sent the following notice to the condominium owners on 01/03/2008.

"This community prides itself on the attractive appearance of the neighborhood therefore it is against policy to ever leave garbage of any kind in the breezeways, stairwell, or in the surrounding areas as well as anywhere on the property aside from in the trash compactor.

Should we find your trash in any of these areas, we will implement a fine in the amount of $50.00 per bag or item and charge your account accordingly. Payment for such fines will be expected upon receipt of the fine."

While this notice applies only to condominium owners, the policy is identical to that included in the apartment renter's Lease Rules & Regulations (page 7) and thus the same rules apply to both the condominium and the apartment residents.

- In response to this problem, the Leasing Office sent the following notice to the apartment residents on 01/17/2008.

"It has been brought to our attention that apartment residents are using the condo trash compactor by building 7. Please refrain from using this compactor. Instead use the compactor for tenants by building 1.

Also, trash that is being incorrectly disposed of is being sorted through and if we find that the trash came from a particular apartment, you will be fined $50 per bag."
