1/24/2008 - Security - GCV Security Assessment

A security assessment of Green Cay Village was conducted on 12/27/2007 by Deputy Rodney Hudson of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Organization and Peter Schulz, the Editor of the GCVN web site.

Assessment Purpose

The purpose of the security assessment was to determine where improvements might be made toward increasing the security of the residents and their property.

Why the Assessment

The assessment was done as a part of the community's working toward becoming a Neighborhood Watch Community. Stated another way, the assessment was NOT conducted because the community has a crime problem, because it doesn't. Instead it was conducted toward keeping Green Cay Village the safe place that it is.

Assessment Summary

"Green Cay Village is an open community with good visibility, good lighting, and few places to hide or escape to. And the homes are solidly constructed. Combined, these attributes should result in an easy to protect community."

Assessment Recommendations

Specific upgrades to the site and the individual units are recommended in the final report toward further improving the security of the residents and their property. A PDF copy of the final report can be downloaded from the Neighborhood Watch page of the GCVN web site or by clicking here.
