8/13/2010 - Condo Recycle Bin Area Problems

The condo recycle bin area is still not being used properly and as a result we are not recycling per Palm Beach County standards.

What You Can Do

The main thing you can do is to put the correct materials in the correct bins and flatten all cardboard boxes that are being recycled.

In addition, you should not overfill the bins or put material to be recycled on the top of the bins or on the floor. Instead, if the bins are full, please use the compactor.

Paper products go in the yellow bin.
  • Newspaper
  • Magazines
  • Catalogs
  • Telephone Books
  • Corrugated Cardboard (flatten and cut to
    3' x 3' maximum)
  • Kraft Bags (Paper Grocery Bags)
Recyclable containers go in the blue bin.
  • Plastic containers #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7
  • Glass Bottles and Jars
  • Aluminum Cans, Foil, and Pie Plates
  • Drink Boxes
  • Milk and Juice Cartons
Because contamination affects the marketability of the collected materials, do not to place the following in the recycle bins.
  • Junk Mail
  • Cereal Boxes
  • Plastic Grocery Bags
  • Tin Cans
  • Styrofoam
  • Food Waste

And if all of this seems too complicated, just use the trash compactor.
