|The condo board of directors is currently considering installing eight video surveillance cameras in the condo parking lot with one by the compactor and the other seven spread throughout the parking lot.|
Funding the installation of these cameras will require an increase of $4.00 to $6.00 per month in the 2011 monthly association fees.
Survey Question - Would you like your board of directors to plan on installing eight video surveillance cameras in the condo parking lot with the understanding that this will result in a $4.00 to $6.00 per month increase in your 2011 monthly association fees?
Survey Results - Based on the survey results, the Board of Directors will try to include the addition of the surveillance cameras in the 2011 condo budget without requiring an increase in the 2011 maintenance assessment. Whether or not this can be accomplished will be reported at the condo budget meeting on November 17th.
Reasons leading to his decision include the fact that the the expense for surveillance cameras is a one time expense and that, while we do not have a serious crime problem, the addition of the surveillance cameras will make it easier to get to the root of some of the vandalism problems and kids misbehaving problems that we have experienced in 2010.
