Authorities alerted residents to a rise in vehicle burglaries during their monthly meeting with members of the Alliance of Delray Residential Associations.
Lt. Pete Ebel of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spoke at the meeting of more than 250 homeowners association leaders and said that vehicle burglaries in the district are up 44 percent in the Jog Road/Military Trail corridor.
"If you leave anything the criminals can see in plain view, they're going to smash the window and go get it," Ebel said.
