| One of the amenities that we are really proud of is our pool and we try to keep it between 83 to 85 degrees between November 1st and April 30th by heating it.
However this Winter we are experiencing one of the coldest Winters on record and this is really taxing the amount we have budgeted to heat the pool. Each year we have budgeted $15,000 to heat the pool. This was sufficient to heat the pool in the Winters of 2007-2008, 2008-2009, and 2009-2010. But this Winter we have been spending $1,000 to $1,500 per week and at this rate we will not have sufficient funds to heat the pool unless we cut back on the heating. So what we are trying now is to only run the pool heater when the forecasted weather for the coming days has projected day time highs of 70 degrees or more. For now that is the best we can do. As for future years, we have the option of increasing the amount spent on heating the pool during the Fall budget cycle. Here's hoping for warmer days and an early end to this exceptionally cold Winter we are living through. |
