5/2/2011 - Proposal to Sod Certain Condo Paths - Approved

A condo board meeting was held on May 2nd at 4:30 pm in the Rec Room to consider a proposal to sod certain condo paths.

After reviewing emailed comments and comments from those attending the meeting, the board approved the original plan to sod certain condo paths with the following revisions.

1. The path between buildings 1 and 2 will be extended to Old Farm Trail to make easier for condo residents to walk to the mail kiosk.

2. The paths between buildings 2 and 3 and 3 and 4 will be left partially in place to permit easy access to the pet waste stations between those buildings.

With these changes the remaining paths will be as shown as red in drawing below.

A condo board meeting will be held on May 2nd at 4:30 pm in the Rec Room to consider a proposal to sod certain condo paths.

Last Fall the master, townhome, and condo boards considered sodding some of the mulched paths on the property toward reducing ongoing mulching expenses.

For the condos, the condo board looked at the paths going to the elevator service rooms and other little used paths behind the condos, both to save money and to improve the privacy and security of the rear, ground floor units by reducing foot traffic past these units.

At that time the board got a quote of $2,474 from CPM to dirt fill and sod all of the condo paths except for the paths running between buildings 5 and 6 and between buildings 6 and 7 from the street to the park.

The board would like to schedule this work to be done in May so that the sod has its best chance to take root during the rainy, high growth season.

However, before proceeding with this project, the condo board would like to give the condo homeowners a chance to have their say in the matter at the scheduled board meeting.

Condo homeowners who can not attend the meeting but who would like to comment on the project can do so by emailing Peter Schulz at the following address.

See pictures below for example of typical paths to be sodded.

Remove above paths to the elevator service rooms. They serve no useful purpose.

Remove above paths from the rear of building 5, 6, and 7 to the park. They are little used and they invite unwanted traffic from the park into the condos.

Keep above paths between buildings 5 and 6 and between buildings 6 and 7 from the street to the park for easy access to the park.
