2/14/2012 - Internet Access for Low-Income Families - Update 1

Comcast recently announced major improvements to its Internet Essentials program that is aimed at providing low cost internet access to low-income families with school age children.
  • First, Comcast will expand the eligibility criteria. Previously, Internet Essentials was available to families with children eligible to receive free school lunches as part of the NSLP. Comcast is now extending eligibility to families with children qualified to receive reduced price school lunches as well.

  • Second, Comcast will double the speed of the broadband connection provided with Internet Essentials to up to 3 Mbps downstream and up to 768 Kbps upstream, helping to make the service even more attractive.

For more information on the Internet Essentials Program, visit InternetEssentials.com or call toll-free 1-855-846-8376

Previously on 8/7/2011
