|Two small Alligators, about three feet long, have been spotted in the lake. |
Based on previous sightings, my guess is that they have been living in the lake for a while now and are only out in the open because their hiding places in the plants in the lake have been flooded.
Note: Alligators less than 4 feet in length are not large enough to be dangerous unless handled. They eat small fish, frogs, and other small animals. Typically, they are not large enough to be a threat to even small pets. Thus, the mere presence of a small alligator should not be a cause for concern and Florida Fish and Wildlife will not remove these alligators unless they are in a location that is not natural e.g. a swimming pool or garage.
