2/24/2014 - Condo Tile and Hardwood Floor Etiquette

If you have tile or wood floors in your unit and you live on the second or third floor, please note that every noise made on on your floor can be heard as loud or louder in the unit below.

That said, having a tile or hardwood floor is a privilege that comes with a responsibility to not make unnecessary noises on the floor that are transmitted to the unit below and toward that end, mitigating actions such as refraining from walking around the unit in hard soled shoes, using felt pads on frequently dragged furniture, and using rubber wheeled casters on frequently rolled furniture should be used.

And I would add to that, for family's with children, you should not allow the children to play games that bounce hard objects on the floor e.g. hard plastic balls, or ride toys with hard plastic wheels on the floor etc.
