|One of the things I like about living here is how clean this place is kept - it's like being on the grounds at Disney Land. |
And I do my part to keep it that way by picking up litter when I see it. But there are people here that apparently don't feel a need to do their part.
Case in point. A few evenings ago when I was out for a walk at about 8 pm, I passed by a condo entrance and saw a crumpled shipping notice on the first floor hallway floor. Normally I would have walked in, picked it up, put it in one of the pet waste stations that dot the condo property, and continued on my walk.
But out of curiosity, I decided to leave it there to see how long it would be before one of the people who live on that floor picked it up.
The next morning at 10am it was still there. What were the people thinking that just walked by? Did they think it was OK that it was there? Did they think that it wasn't for them to pick it up because they didn't do it? Or that it was maintenance's job to pick it up and they would live with it until then?
That said, you don't have to be like them. So feel free to be a better you and if see litter, do your part and pick it up.
