|Update - The large Alligator was captured and relocated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife trapper.|
Previously - A large Alligator (over 4 feet long) has been spotted in the lake.
Property Management has contacted Florida Fish and Wildlife to have it removed since it is over 4 feet long.
In the meantime, residents are advised to keep pets and small children away from the lake.
Note: Generally, alligators less than 4 feet in length are not large enough to be dangerous unless handled. They eat small fish, frogs, and other small animals. Typically, they are not large enough to be a threat to even small pets. Thus, the mere presence of a small alligator should not be a cause for concern and Florida Fish and Wildlife will not remove these alligators unless they are in a location that is not natural e.g. a swimming pool or garage.
